Processor Module for IoT and Embedded Systems
GRINN now offers a compact processor module based on the SYNAPTICS Quad-Core ArmTM A73 SoC SL1680, equipped with 4GB DDR4 and 16GB Flash. The module can be used either with an ADA adapter in the ASTRA™ MachinaTM Kit or directly soldered onto a custom interface board. In addition, GRINN provides a complete evaluation system. Further products, including an SBC based on the SL1680, are already in development.

The GRINN AstraADA-1680 is a core module adapter that seamlessly connects the GRINN AstraSOM-1680 with the SYNAPTICS Astra Machina Foundation Series Demo Board. It ensures reliable connectivity, correct routing, and high signal integrity for all high-speed interfaces – ideal for efficient prototyping and embedded system validation. Key features include Gigabit Ethernet via Realtek RTL8211F, 128 MB QSPI Flash, an HDMI-RX input for multimedia applications, and a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. The GRINN SOM-1680 is powered by a Quad-Core Cortex-A73, a PowerVR Series9XE GE9920 GPU, and an integrated NPU accelerator, delivering impressive computing and graphics performance. With 4GB LPDDR4 and 16GB eMMC, the module supports advanced video input/output and is ideal for smart cameras, industrial automation, and IoT devices. For seamless connectivity, it offers USB 3.0, PCIe, and Gigabit Ethernet. The software SDK is available via the SYNAPTICS GitHub platform.
