COMPEX Radio Modules with MIMO 4x4 in Single-Band Operation
New High-Performance Solutions
Until now, COMPEX has focused on MIMO 2x2 solutions operating in DBS mode (Dual Band Simultaneous), which allow simultaneous use of two frequency bands – 2.4, 5, and 6GHz. The company is now expanding its portfolio with new radio modules that operate in Single-Band mode (SB). These support a MIMO 4x4 configuration, enabling significantly higher data rates within the respective frequency band.
Chipsets and Temperature Range Options
COMPEX continues to rely on Qualcomm's QCN-6274-0 and QCN-9274-1 Waikiki chip family for these solutions. The QCN-6274 supports 256 clients and is intended for the module variant in the commercial temperature range (-20°C to +70°C), whereas the QCN-9274-1 (enterprise version) supports 512 clients and covers the industrial variant (-40°C to +85°C).
Module Variants and Interfaces
As the module family is offered for all three bands, this results in six new modules with the part numbers WLE7000E2 (2.4GHz, HT40), WLE7000E5 (5GHz, HT240), and WLE7000E6 (6GHz, HT320), whereby the suffix -I stands for the industrial version. While the previous MIMO 2x2 module solutions are offered with mPCIe, M.2 E, and M.2 B+M interfaces, the WLE7000Ex module family comes along with only the mPCIe interface.
