Change in Sales Leadership: Welcome Walter Mayer

Newly Appointed Vice President Sales Passive

CODICO announces that Walter Mayer will assume the position of Vice President Sales Passive effective January 1, 2026.

Walter Mayer began his professional career at CODICO and has gained extensive leadership and market expertise in sales and distribution marketing, including roles at renowned companies such as Renesas and Rubycon. In his new role, he will have overall responsibility for Sales and Product Management Passive Components.

Further Developing and Implementing the Sales Strategy

“CODICO offers customers a globally unique concept combining design-in orientation, advanced technical expertise, and selective, loyal supplier partnerships under private ownership,” Mayer commented on his appointment.

His core responsibilities will include further developing and implementing the sales strategy and promoting sustainable international business growth with growing focus on our customers complete application needs. Together with the management team, he will drive the strategic direction of the sales initiatives. “My goal is to support CODICO in differentiating itself in the global technology race. Our customers can minimize their development efforts while our suppliers focus on their core competencies – technology development and production while both can rely on CODICO’s state-of the art logistics,” Mayer explained.

“His expertise in direct Key Account and OEM management, his international experience with broadline and niche distributors, and his personal qualities make him the ideal partner to further expand and fully realize our growth potential,” emphasizes CODICO CEO Karin Krumpel.

From 2023 to 2025, Mayer served as Head of Distribution Marketing & Mass Market Strategy at Renesas Electronics America, successfully implementing a structured mass market enablement for complex semiconductor solutions across the USA, Europe, and China. Prior to that, he was Vice President Automotive Sales responsible for market expansion across India, Korea, Taiwan and heading Automotive OEM sales globally. His long-standing experience in passive components also includes his tenure at CODICO supplier Rubycon, several years of which were spent in Japan. Mayer’s connection to CODICO dates back to 1997, when he worked in Technical Sales, driving the expansion into Germany and advancing Product Management Passive Components.

This change coincides with the gradual reduction of Thomas Jell’s working hours as he prepares for his upcoming retirement. Jell has been serving as Vice President Sales Passive since 2013 and has a CODICO career spanning over 30 years. “I am very pleased that Thomas Jell will continue to support us with his experience and will take on the role of Field Application Engineer Power Conversion. His extensive know-how in power management opens up new growth perspectives for us,” commented Karin Krumpel on the internal transition.
